Maxim takes a disciplined, client-first approach to wealth management, combining active investment strategies with a strong focus on risk reduction. He works with families, business owners, institutions, and high-net-worth individuals to build customized financial plans and portfolios aligned with their long-term goals.
His investment strategy centers on North American blue-chip equities and fixed income, often using options to manage downside risk. With over 20 years of experience, including managing a $4 billion fixed income portfolio, Maxim brings deep market insight across asset classes and cycles.
Maxim holds a BA in Finance and an MBA in Business Administration. He teaches advanced finance at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and contributes technical content for CFP candidates. Outside of work, Maxim enjoys cycling, spending time with his children, and mentoring young professionals.

Steven Pavao
Associate Portfolio Manager
At Palos, Steven Pavao supports senior management by implementing trading strategies, monitoring and rebalancing client asset allocations, conducting equity research, and participating in client meetings. He brings over six years of experience in wealth management, specializing in personal finance, asset allocation, and portfolio construction.
Steven began his career at RBC, where he worked as an Investment Associate focusing on asset allocation and equity research, and also served as an Investment Services Representative at RBC Direct Investing. He is a graduate of Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and a minor in Entrepreneurship and is a CFA charterholder.
Steven is motivated by helping clients preserve and grow their capital through tailored investment approaches that emphasize integrity, transparency, and long-term value. Known for his strong communication skills and positive mindset, he enjoys watching sports, weight training, and attending music festivals outside of work
Caroline Vadbonouer
Manager, Client Services
Caroline joined Palos in 2017 and plays a key role in ensuring the organization, administration, and efficiency of the firm’s day-to-day operations. She oversees client service activities, coordinates account management tasks, and supports the wealth advisory team to deliver seamless client experiences.
Caroline began her career in financial services as a Sales Assistant at Scotia Bank and went on to serve as Branch Administrator & Investment Representative at Hampton Securities, Richardson GMP Limited, and Canaccord Financial. Her extensive experience in client services and portfolio administration allows her to support both advisors and clients with precision and care.

Sandy Sankardyal
Manager, Portfolio Administration
Sandy manages portfolio administration at Palos, bringing 35 years of experience in financial administration. She has been with the organization since 1996, through its transitions from Castellum Capital Management to 3MACS and finally Palos Wealth Management.
Sandy’s role focuses on client relationships and portfolio administration, ensuring smooth daily operations. She holds a diploma in administration and is valued for her consistent engagement with colleagues and clients.
Outside of work, Sandy enjoys traveling and reading. She is motivated by the daily interactions and collaboration with co-workers and clients.
Jocelyne Kim
Manager, Portfolio Administration
Jocelyne manages client services and front office operations at Palos, drawing on 16 years of experience in client service and administration. She began her financial career progressing from cashier to cash and transactions auditing, building a strong foundation in financial operations.
Jocelyne holds a BA in Economics and has completed the CSC and CPH courses in 2012. She is known for her assertive calmness and a friendly, attentive approach.
Outside of work, Jocelyne enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors with family and friends. She values positive feedback from clients and colleagues as a key motivator.
Justin Terk
Front Office Administrator
Justin supports both client relations and investment operations at Palos, working closely with the front office team and assisting in equity research and portfolio management tasks. He applies strong problem-solving skills and a logical approach to his work.
With a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the John Molson School of Business, Justin holds a CSC certificate and is a CFA Level II candidate.
His background includes project management

Broadcasting Company.
Outside of work, Justin enjoys tennis, movies,
and traveling. He is driven by a commitment to give his best effort in every task he takes on.
